I apologize but this site has been closed permanently
To all the nice people and friends of this site I am sorry to say that I will be unable to maintain this domain name or the business name I have previously used on this site. As you know this site has never sold any coffee, single serve coffee cups or any brewing machines that bear trademarked logos of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters(TM) also known as the Corporation GMCR(TM). This fact has however escaped their corporate attorneys who objected to some images within the site and more importantly both the domain and business names.
This site's previous endeavor was solely providing information and tools to reclaim used and discarded K-cups(TM) from the trash and refill them a few extra times before ultimately returning them to trash. The recycling and money saving philosophies of this site have been popular with green minded environmentally aware people, retired people, frugal people and frankly, anyone with a little more time than money. Perhaps we were not the model customers of GMCR(TM) but we were customers of their product nonetheless.
I expressly disagree that this site in any way sought to infringe on any GMCR(TM) trademarks or patents. Faced with the threats of high priced corporate attorneys, however, I should probably err on the side of caution. I have been advised by their attorney in this matter that GMCR(TM) owns the alphabetic letter "k" in all matters pertaining to single serve coffee cups and this letter can not be used in a domain name or business name in relation thereof. When a lawyer tells you his corporate client owns a letter of the alphabet it puts things into a whole new perspective.
I was somewhat surprised that in these hard economic times and concerns over our environment that a few people inclined to reclaim a used single serve coffee cup from the trash, wash it out, refill it, and use it a few extra times would be singled out for the full heavy hand of the corporate attorneys. Especially from a giant corporation like GMCR(TM) whose total sales last year was 2.65 Billion dollars. Sales of the single serve coffee business, which they almost completely own, continues to exponentially increase. The numbers boggle my mind and I wonder where GMCR's(TM) sense of proportion and rationale are in this matter.
Wall Street greed is a trending topic and corporations are under such scrutiny from Main Street. Which executive(s) at GMCR(TM) had the oversight on a legal campaign to stop a few customers from reclaiming their used and discarded K-cups(TM) from the trash? I would think GMCR(TM) would be embarrassed and certainly the shareholder's money could be better spent elsewhere. I have tried to contact representatives of GMCR(TM) to discuss this matter but my calls have not been returned. I thought maybe a mistake was made since this action seems to go against all of their public relations spin like their concern about product recyclability and social responsibility...etc.
The new site is up and running with new names. I can't direct you from here via link but I can tell you to "lose the "k" and use an "a" and you will easily find us. Thanks again.
